Development Corp. Hires Three, Promotes Three

Welcome to New Staff

             The three newcomers:

             ·                    Joy Page, Program Manager, Membership and Events

Joy will oversee membership recruitment and retention and various events. She has been working for St. Elizabeth Regional Health, most recently as a physician recruiter, since returning to the Lafayette area in January 2006. She spent the previous decade in Indianapolis , co-owning a restaurant, and before that, a styling salon. Joy earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts at Ball State University .

·                    Eileen Booth, Program Manager, Downtown Development and Events

Eileen will oversee various Development Corp.-sponsored programs, including retail technical assistance and downtown development, the Lafayette Farmers Market and other events. Eileen comes to the Development Corp. from the City of Lafayette Community Development Department, where she’s been a planner/project manager for two years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in studio art from DePauw University , a master’s in art education from New York University , and last year earned a master’s in historic preservation from Ball State University .

·                    Melanie Fisher, Administrative Assistant 

Melanie brings to the Development Corp. six years’ experience as a new employee trainer/server for Arni’s Restaurant and three years’ experience as a monthly payment plan advisor at State Farm Insurance. She has completed 30 hours at Purdue University and is currently studying at Ivy Tech Community College .

                 Three Promotions Announced

                 The three with new positions:
                 ·                    Laura Walls is now Program Manager, Economic Development. Since July 2006, she had been Business
                 Development Manager for the Downtown Development Council and previously interned with the City of Lafayette
                 and Lafayette Urban Enterprise Association. A graduate of Jefferson High School , she has also attended Purdue   
                 and Ivy Tech.
                 ·                    Linda Moore, formerly an administrative assistant for us, is now Accounting Assistant. She will provide 
                 back-up and help in the fiscal area of our corporation.
                 ·                    Jane Ness, now Program and Event Coordinator Assistant, is expanding her realm beyond the downtown
                 events, which she’s overseen for many years, to include all Development Corp. events.
