On-The-Job Training Money Now Available For Area Businesses
OJT is customized training designed by each company to meet their unique business needs for occupations in demand within target economic sectors. The training period is at least 30 days but not more than six months in duration. OJT reimburses directly to employers a portion of the trainee’s gross wages for the duration of the training period. Trainee wages may also qualify for the new HIRE federal tax credit.
Employers can be reimbursed for up to 50% of the wages (minimum wage of $10.00/hour) of unemployed workers who have been displaced/laid off from their jobs.
