Boilermaker Football - Meet the Team Event

To kick off the 2010 football season, the Boilermakers will hold a Meet the Team event Saturday, Aug. 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the north plaza area of Ross-Ade Stadium. Admission is free.

Fans are invited to get autographs from the players; take pictures; and enjoy pork burgers, chips and soft drinks. There will be activities and games for kids as well as a Corn Hole Tournament. The Big Ten Network Drew Brees bobble head will be on display, and fans can take pictures with the eight-foot tall figure.

The Purdue cheerleaders, Purdue Pete, the pep band and Boilermaker Special will add flavor to the festivities. WAZY (96.5 FM), the flagship station of the Purdue Radio Network, will provide exclusive coverage from the event.

A short program, emceed by the new radio play-by-play voice of the Boilermakers, Tim Newton, will begin at 11:45 a.m., and feature comments from athletics director Morgan Burke and head coach Danny Hope.

Team photos, sponsored by Bruno's, and rosters will be available to fans, as will posters and schedule cards.

The Purdue Pride Team Store will be open, and fans also can purchase 2010 game tickets.

Free parking will be available in the R Lot north of Ross-Ade.

The Boilermakers open the season Sept. 4 at Notre Dame. The home opener is Sept. 11 against Western Illinois.
