Goal: To serve as a liaison with elected and appointed
officials to voice the views of the business community and to serve
as an action group on major community issues.
Committees include the following:
Federal Government Task Force
State & Local Government
Third House
Federal Government Committee
Prioritize federal issues affecting the Greater Lafayette area;
develop and publish position papers on these issues; communicate
concerns of The Chamber’s membership to federal officials; plan an
annual Spring trip to Washington, D.C.

State and Local Government Committee
Study and prioritize state and local issues of particular concern to
local business. Recommend action to The Chamber’s board and to The
Chamber’s membership. Identify specific issues and make studies of
government needs.

Third House Committee
This mock legislative session is conducted weekly, on Saturday
mornings throughout the legislative session. Chamber Third House
members are given an opportunity to address issues of concern to
area businesses and the community with area legislators.
