Kevin Lee Haehl

Kevin Lee Haehl, operations manager for Eli Lilly and Co., Tippecanoe Laboratories, hails from Pendleton, Indiana . He’s a Purdue University graduate, earning his bachelor’s in chemical engineering in 1989. Counting his years at Purdue and two different times he’s lived here, he’s called Tippecanoe County home for 13 years, continuously since 2000.

“As this area continues to grow and change, it will face new challenges to the local economy, job market and business environment,” he says. “I believe this is already a great place to live, learn, work, play and raise a family, and I am interested in doing what I can to maintain and further improve the quality of life for this community.”  

The father of four children aged 4 to 12, Haehl is a West Lafayette Little League coach and umpire and is active in his church. He also served three years on the Habitat for Humanity board. When he can, he enjoys golfing, reading and watching sports. “Although I no longer do it, I also love farming, having grown up raising cattle and corn,” he says.

 

David R. McKinnis

David R. McKinnis, director of the Technical Assistance Program and vice provost for Engagement at Purdue University, has lived here 35 years. He earned a bachelor’s in engineering science, master’s in management, and doctorate in industrial engineering, all from Purdue University .

When he’s not working, he likes biking, sailing, playing racquetball and woodworking. He’s also active in his church and chairs the Indiana Internet board and the Chamber’s University Relations committee.  

McKinnis says he’s interested in pitching in at the Chamber because, “My family has greatly benefited from living in our community and I want to work to make it even better.”

 

J. Pat More

J. Pat More, business relations manager for Duke Energy, came to town a year ago. He’s a 1976 graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a degree in electrical engineering technology.

He’s active in his church and is a Bill Glass Prison Ministry volunteer. His hobbies, he reports, are “grandkids, golf, reading and travel.”

“This is such a great community,” he says, prompting him to agree to serve the Chamber. “There is such a great reward for giving back. You always get more than you give. I just want to see the community continue to thrive by helping the existing businesses any way possible.”         

 

Steve Schreckengast

Steve Schreckengast, president of Citation Homes, has been nominated to serve a second term.

“If I can play some small part in the economic success of the community by serving on the board, I’m glad to,” he says. “I care as a small business person and a citizen of the community. I want to work to make this community an even better place.”

            Schreckengast went to high school here, then earned a degree in business from Indiana University .

            He’s currently serving on the Ivy Tech Community College State Board of Trustees and Salin Bank board. He’s a former YMCA board member and Area Plan Commission member.

            He enjoys golf, travel and spending time with his family.

 

Elizabeth B. Searle

Elizabeth B. Searle, attorney at Ball Eggleston PC, is a 1992 graduate of Valparaiso University who earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from Indiana School of Law, Indianapolis . She’s lived here since 1995, except for a short time in Texas .

            Professionally, she’s active in several committees of the Indiana State Bar Association, including the appellate section, litigation section and practice management standing committee. Locally, she’s currently a Boys and Girls Club board member and she earlier served on the Volunteer Bureau board.

            Searle is interested in serving on the board again because, “The Greater Lafayette community is a wonderful place to live and work, and I would like to be a part of the its dynamic growth through the further development of business and economic health.”

            While she enjoys her book club, playing sports and time with friends, she reports, “Right now a lot of my energy is going toward my two kids,” one age 3, the other born earlier this summer.

           

Randolph F. Williams

Randolph F. Williams, president and chief executive officer of Lafayette Savings Bank, came here in 2001. The self-described “infatuated runner” holds a BBA and MBA, both from Kent State University .

“Having moved here from a city the size of Chicago, I’m excited about contributing in a community where the results can actually be measured and where people really do care foremost about what’s best for our market,” he says.

His local involvement includes serving on the  board of Lafayette Transitional Housing and the Capital Resources Council. He’s also been a United Way volunteer.
